I was born in Los Angeles and spent the first part of my life there. Eventually I realized the stork had dropped me in the wrong geographic location and I moved east. I've been a "native Iowan" for the past ten years.

Currently I'm working on my second (decent) novel while I wait for the bidding war to begin for the first - see Writing at right. If it’s up to me, John Cusack and Minnie Driver will star in the film. 

I began storytelling as a toddler in need of entertainment and wrote and produced my one and only play in the 4th grade. I was so sick on the day of the show I had to stay home. My fiction credits as a grown-up are limited to Playgirl Magazine Forum stories (I think I was Roxie and Tallulah), but I am very much looking forward to expanding the list in the near future. 

When it comes to 'work,' I've accurately been called a scanner. I can find something interesting in just about anything and my resume shows it. I've worked in construction, real estate sales and development, entertainment, marketing, investment banking, non-profit administration, and the law - which gives me an absurd variety of characters and situations that may appear in future books. At the moment I own a successful electronic relationship marketing business. 

I live in an historical (and sometimes hysterical) house near the Des Moines River with two dogs, two cats, and a bird. If you plan to visit, be aware animal hair is considered both a condiment and a decorating style in this household.

I strongly believe giving back is as important as "taking in." To that end, I give time each month to support various non-profit organizations. Favorites are KFMG (the best radio statio in Iowa, and possibly the world!), Mentor Iowa, the Polk County Extension Master Gardener Program, and Best Friends Animal Sanctuary.
